Well, we’ve managed to get a FEW things done so far when it comes to the wedding. Just a few. It took us almost 5 months to pick a zip code to get married in, let alone a venue. I’m picky, but it’s our wedding, so it’s OK to be picky, right? For the most part, I’m not making myself crazy (yet), but it’s daunting to be making decisions for an event a year away that’s supposed to be the biggest day of your life.
I’m not one of those brides who had a crystal clear picture of how I wanted everything since I was 12. I know lots of girls do, and they’re lucky! There are certain styles and things I know that I like or don’t like, but the hardest part for me has been creating a clear, cohesive wedding vision in my head to get the ball rolling. But we’re getting there! Hopefully there will be some more updates soon and more pieces will start fitting together.
For now, I can divulge the following:
LOCATION: The Liberty Hotel, Boston, MA
We fell in love with the Liberty for our wedding venue right away. It’s the perfect blend of old and new, and the juxtaposition of the hard, gritty prison architecture mixed with the sleek, modern touches that make the hotel and its restaurants so popular is a concoction that got us really excited. There’s nowhere else quite like it, and that’s exactly what we were hoping for. I’m hoping that we can get our wedding to reflect that same feeling. Unexpected, one-of-a-kind.
PHOTOGRAPHER: Allegro Photography, Boston, MA
I fell in love with Allegro Photography back in 2009 when they shot my pal Shelley Senai’s engagement photos and wedding. I was basically drooling as I scrolled through Shelley’s photos, so as soon as we decided we were going to have a Boston wedding, I contacted David and Jo, who are the extremely talented duo behind Allegro. Their work is breathtaking, and they really grasp the idea that wedding photos must tell a story – it isn’t just about a dress and a cake and a kiss – it’s about a whole experience unfolding before your eyes.
RECEPTION MUSIC: Seth Isaacs of Beat Train Productions, Boston, MA
I found Beat Train Productions on the Style Me Pretty Little Black Book, and the whole company seems to strive to disprove that wedding DJs are lame cheeseballs. Seth Issacs and the whole group of Beat Train DJs, led by Ari Rosenfield, are all about creating a cool, custom party without the shtick. Greg and I are excited to get a fab playlist going with lots of quintessential favorites and a few surprises.
DRESS: That’s a secret, silly!
Don't be fooled by imitations or conned by unofficial fan pages. Yeah, we know we're great on our own - but we're even better together. gremanda.com is the official online stomping ground of Greg+Amanda, America's favorite Tweethearts.

Enjoy every moment of the planning, too! It’s part of the story. Taking the time to make it uniquely yours is soo worth it. It makes it all the more memorable for everyone involved. 4 years after our wedding, our vendors still say it’s the best they’ve done! ; )
